I graduated from the University of Virginia (UVA) for both college and medical school. I was selected for dual residency training in internal medicine and psychiatry at UVA. Then, I completed a fellowship in forensic psychiatry at the UVA Institute for Law, Psychiatry and Public Policy, studying under Dr. Park Dietz, who at that time was a regular consultant to the FBI. My education, training, and experience has allowed me to serve as a medical expert witness in multiple areas, listed below. I believe that forensic psychiatrists serve courts of law in administrative, civil and criminal matters. My three board certifications assist me in these tasks and allow for enhanced analysis of difficult cases often involving psychiatric and medical conditions and quite possibly multiple disabilities. Difficult cases often have a great many medical records spanning years of treatment that need to be studied and carefully applied to the questions before the court. I believe it is important to evaluate cases for both the defense and plaintiff in  criminal, civil and administrative matters. I have been consulted in a wide variety of extremely interesting cases,  and I have provided trial testimony more than 80 times and deposition testimony in more than 50 cases.
