Primary Areas of Expertise

Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Medicine

Dr. Kimball moved to Utah Valley in 1996 and brought with him extensive experience in General Orthopedics and Sports Medicine. Born and raised in Long Beach, California he attended BYU prior to serving a mission in Southern Brail. He then attended the University of Southern California and married Julie Janse. He and his wife Julie are parents to 10 children and 11 grandchildren. Nine of their ten have attended BYU. He enjoys snow skiing, hunting, water sports and watching football, basketball, volleyball and soccer from the sidelines.

Dr. Kimball limits his practice to conditions of the knee and shoulder. Many of his patients are sports enthusiasts. He takes pride in his ability to meet the orthopedic needs of athletes of all types. He takes pride in being on time, practicing efficiently, respecting the rights of patients and informing patients of their condition in terms that are easy to understand. He believes that patients should control their medical care with the professional advise of physicians.

Having spent 40 years in practice in California and Utah with extensive experience in knee and shoulder as well as general orthopedic conditions I am in an excellent position to summarize and make sense of complex medical issues. I have experience in taking care of patients with Worker’s Comp injuries as well as Personal Injury situations. In the context of a busy orthopedic practice I have gained extensive experience in Defense Medical Evaluations, Independent and Agreed Medical Evaluations and Worker’s Comp related issues.

I continue to actively practice knee and shoulder surgery and am the Team Orthopedic Surgeon to the Brigham Young University Athletic Department. Although still engaged in a busy surgical practice I have availability on a part time basis to review records and render opinions including formulating appropriate interrogatives relative to complex medical conditions related to Orthopedic Surgery. I have retired from clinical medicine effective April, 2022.
