LaPorte, Texas
I have 30+ years in the Construction Industry with 15 of those in Construction Safety. I have served in the field as a foreman, superintendent, project manager, safety manager, as well as a Corporate Safety Director, a Construction Safety Consultant, an OSHA Course Trainer and an Adjunct Instructor. Over the course of the last 14 years, I have taught more than 3,500 people and accrued approximately 28,000 instructional hours, all of which are directly related to the competent application of OSHA standards in the work environment.
I hold an OSHA 510 and OSHA 500, as well as a Certified Safety and Health Official (CSHO) from Texas A&M University – Texas Engineering Extension Service (TEEX). After completing my certificate, I was employed by TEEX from 2013-2015 as an Adjunct Instructor, teaching OSHA related courses to those in their CSHO certification program. I am a Subject Matter Expert in Personal Fall Arrest Systems and was the major contributor to the Student Fall Prevention/Protection Textbook (TEEX) [published 9/2013].
Over the last 25 years, I have become familiar with OSHA standards through required job tasks, through formal instruction, through training and teaching them to others, through preparing written materials for use by lay-people and workers and through personal investigation. As an expert witness I have experience reviewing case-related documents. I have researched applicable OSHA standards, letters of interpretation along with industry standards and recognized best practices. I have generated opinions based on the application of these standards to the facts of each case as presented in the case-related materials. I have also worked with attorneys to formulate comprehensive question lists prior to deposing opposing parties, eye-witnesses and experts.
