He completed his residency in Family Medicine at Overlook hospital in NJ and a year of post Grad study at SUNY Stony Brook.

He has worked since then as faculty of the RWJBH Somerset Hospital Family Medicine Residency in Somerville, NJ.

From 2006-2017 he served as Program Director of the Residency. Since 2017 he has served as the Chief Academic Officer of RWJBH Somerset.

Dr. Bucek practices full spectrum Family Medicine.  This includes inpatient rounding, maternity care, pediatric care and procedures.

He has served in various administrative and regulatory roles including Chair of the hospital IRB, Chair of Credentials Committee, Department Chair and Director of House Coverage.

He has audited public health care grants and provided expert review for malpractice defense of Family Physicians.

Admin experience includes ACGME, LCME, Medicare supervision regulations, APN collaboration.

Starting March 2020, for 18 months, Dr. Bucek worked on the Somerset Inpatient COVID unit with hospitalized COVID patients.
