Felicia is a Licensed Massage & Bodywork Therapist (LMBT) in North Carolina and a Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) in Florida. She has more than thirty (30) years of experience in the massage therapy and spa industry, the majority of which has been as the owner or managing consultant of spa businesses. Over that time, she has owned and operated three (3) spas and was the managing consultant of a fourth spa.

She is an experienced Expert Witness with more than nine (9) years of experience in legal cases related to the practice, business and industry of massage therapy and spas. To date, she has been retained as a Massage and Spa Industry expert over one hundred (100) times for cases in twenty-six (26) US states and/or territories, and Aruba. Over eighty-five (85) cases have been related to sexual assault or misconduct involving clients who felt exposed or violated.

She has been involved in all facets of operating a spa business including but not limited to start up, hiring, training, supervision, Human Resources, payroll, finance, security, daily operations, marketing, promotions, and purchasing. Prior to and since opening her first spa in 1996, she also worked in nine other businesses which offered massage therapy services.

 

Relevant experience and expertise include:

  • Graduated from the Carolina School of Massage Therapy in 1994
  • Licensed to practice massage in North Carolina and Florida and has personally performed more than 20,000 massages
  • Business owner, massage and spa educator, and consultant for more than two decades.
  • Worked in eight (8) businesses as a massage therapist before opening her first spa
  • Owned, and operated three (3) spas since 1996 and was the managing consultant for a fourth spa in 2013-2014. Massage Therapy was the primary service in all
  • Employed and managed hundreds of employees and over one hundred massage (100) therapists in the businesses above
  • Hired, trained, and supervised multiple spa managers and massage leads/managers
