Brian Trotter is an ACTAR accredited Collision Reconstructionist with an extensive technical background. In 1991, Brian graduated from the US Naval Academy with a BS in Aerospace Engineering. Brian spent 20 years flying P-3C Orion aircraft as a Mission Commander/Navigator and Carrier Strike Group Air Defense Officer. Brian earned an MS in Aerospace Science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in 2008.

After retiring from the Navy, Brian joined the South Carolina Highway Patrol in 2011. He worked as an enforcement Trooper in Richland County, where he excelled in Impaired Driving Enforcement and was certified as a Drug Recognition Expert. Brian was accepted to Multi-disciplinary Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) in 2016. He rose to the rank of Sergeant and was the Midlands MAIT team leader, overseeing the investigation and reconstruction of MAIT cases in 14 counties of central South Carolina.

Brian is an Event Data Recorder Analyst and holds an FAA part 107 UAV (drone) license. He has reconstructed or investigated over 500 MAIT cases. Brian is also qualified as an expert witness in Circuit Court and Magistrate Court for Collision Reconstruction and Event Data Recorder Data Analyst.
