Jon Washington is the Founder and Proprietor of The Innovation Garage, a business consulting firm he has operated since 2012. The Innovation Garage focuses on providing education, tools, technology, and expert consulting in change management related to Strategy, Innovation, and Supply Chain.

The Innovation Garage provides organizational leadership teams with resources, education, and consulting services to design strategies, develop internal capabilities, and implement systems, processes and solutions. Its diverse client base includes startups, nonprofits, mid market privately held and recognized publicly traded organizations such as Fortune 500 companies and large international entities, including DoD-based support organizations.

Since its inception, The Innovation Garage has collaborated with over 100 organizations, with Mr. Washington personally training more than 2,000 organizational leaders and their extended teams.

His expertise spans various sectors, including medical, automotive, aerospace, defense, consumer packaged goods, mining, energy, broadcasting, financial self-service, and manufacturing systems, covering areas such as product design, innovation, strategy, and supply chain and procurement operations.

With a university background and a BSME in mechanical engineering with a specialization in polymers and an MBA in international operations, he also consults with clients on operations improvement and efficiency initiatives.

As a named inventor on over 100 global patents, Mr. Washington is sought for expert witness consultation on design and utility patents and has held various testifying expert roles. He offers patent analysis, claim chart development, and expert/rebuttal reports.

Legal teams engage him for his expertise in patent-related business processes, patent infringement/non-infringement analysis, and patent reexamination, as well as his understanding of the practical application of USPTO patent processes, including Walker Process fraud matters.

His expert witness support also encompasses commercial contracts, purchase order terms and conditions, product failure analysis, and application project and program management methodologies for complex and highly technical systems.

His skills aid legal case teams by simplifying complex technical topics for juries during testimony and trial proceedings. Mr. Washington has testified in federal court, and the materials he has produced have been introduced as exhibits into formal federal case records as valuable educational materials for juries as the triers of fact.

Before founding The Innovation Garage, Mr. Washington managed a global supply chain team of over 30 members across six continents, overseeing a $5 million operating budget responsible for global supply chain development and quality performance, supplier selection, purchasing, contracts and supply chain procedures responsible for over $1 billion in annual spending across more than 1,000 suppliers.

Prior to this role, he served as a senior supply chain leader, project/program manager, product designer, team systems lead, and senior principal engineer, commercializing complex high-technology integrated systems and devices in the financial self-service, security, medical, consumer, and automotive product sectors.
