Dr. Erik Blutinger is a board-certified assistant professor of emergency medicine and is recognized for his expertise and extensive experience in clinical practice, leadership, utilization reviews, and hospital administration. He graduated magna cum laude from Brandeis University before earning his MD from George Washington University. During medical school, Dr. Blutinger completed an advanced Master’s degree overseas in the United Kingdom (London), complementing his clinical acumen with specialized training in health policy, planning, and financing. He completed his residency in emergency medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. He is a fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP).
Dr. Blutinger’s career has been marked by rapid advancement, notably appointed medical director in several roles for a large academic health system, including utilization management / care management and community paramedicine. He serves as Associate Global Patient Safety Director for a global medical device (Teleflex) that produces 60,000 products, helping to oversee product safety and quality. Beyond his clinical and tech-related responsibilities, he is passionate about public health and global medicine, working in different health systems even in low-resource settings countries such as South Africa and Guatemala. His contributions to the medical literature are substantial, with multiple publications in esteemed medical journals that have advanced the field of emergency medicine. Dr. Blutinger’s expertise and insights will provide an expert witness consultant in emergency medicine, bringing a blend of practical experience, academic rigor, and leadership acumen to legal proceedings.
