Project Management & Building Codes

I am a licensed civil and/or structural engineer (PE/SE) in 22 US states, districts, and territories – namely Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Hawaii, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, the US Virgin Islands, Washington, and Washington D.C. I am a Building Code Specialist, credentialed by the International Code Council as a Certified Building Official (CBO). I am also a Project Management Expert, certified by the Project Management Institute as a Project Management Professional (PMP) and Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP). I provide expert opinion reports and testimony for structural and civil projects involving both forensic engineering and design engineering. I have conducted over 700 forensic investigations involving roof failures, wall failures, foundation issues, building envelope failure, corrosion, or other forms of damage resulting from rain, hail, wind, snow, tornado, hurricane, earthquake, lightning, fire, volcano, tropical storm, vehicle impact, construction defect, or other natural or man-made events. I have testified at depositions and trials regarding concrete roof tile wind damage, post-tensioned slab adequacy to resist punching shear, project cost estimates, wall structural adequacy to resist wind forces, horizontal and vertical discontinuities, truss repair versus replacement, and other topics.

I have structural/civil engineering and project management experience across the fields of transmission line structural design and evaluation; residential, commercial, and industrial building design, evaluation, and retrofit; and hydrologic and hydraulic studies of rivers and bridges. My experience includes high- and low-voltage power line support structures, tract houses, landscape structures, theaters, pharmacies, restaurants, custom homes, multi-story apartments over podium slabs, billboards and other structures utilizing wood, masonry, steel, concrete, and carbon fiber reinforced polymer. I also provide fall protection anchorage evaluation and design at industrial structures. I have designed unique structures and retrofits including a water tower seismic retrofit, a parabolic steel arch truss solar array, a tapered masonry monument, and fiber-reinforced polymer retrofits to post-tensioned concrete slabs and retaining walls.

I am a National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) record-holder with Civil and Structural Model Law status. I am the owner of Marcor Structural Expert Network (MarcorSEN Engineering), a civil and structural engineering firm focusing on expert collaboration across multiple disciplines. I am also the sole proprietor of Marcor Forensic and Expert Consulting, focusing on expert witness work. This combination of model law status and sole proprietorship equips me with the unique ability to rapidly obtain licensure in any US state, territory, or district where my expertise may be required.
