Dr. Odell is a Stanford and UCLA trained practicing anesthesiologist and pain management physician. A fellow of the Medical Scientist Training Program at Stanford, he received a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering (1974) and his MD (1976). He completed an anesthesia residency at UCLA in 1982. He is a diplomat of the American Board of Anesthesiology, the American Board of Pain Medicine and a Fellow of Interventional Pain Practice (FIPP).

Dr. Odell is the Founder of the Neuropathy & Pain Centers of Las Vegas and Owner of Associated Pain Specialists, located in east TN. A well-established pain management expert, he uses a wide variety of pain management techniques to treat patients in his private practices. Patients from around the country seek out the acclaimed Neuropathy and Pain Centers of Las Vegas. Dr. Odell uses Sanexas, an advanced electromedical device that can produce favorable outcomes for treating neuropathic pain by healing the nerves. A broad spectrum of debilitating conditions can also be treated with Sanexas electroanalgesia.

His pain management experience includes lumbar decompression, spinal cord stimulator placement, and the new larger lesion radiofrequency procedures in the spine and for joint denervation as well as all standard interventional procedures. Other procedures offered include and lumbar, cervical and knee decompression and regenerative medicine techniques such as PRP. He is the Las Vegas representative for Stella, a program dedicated to helping patients with PTSD & anxiety using the stellate ganglion block.

Dr. Odell has had extensive experience treating patients with the Sanexas device; he was instrumental in the development of the Combined Electrochemical Technique (CET), an innovative treatment for neuropathies and inflammation-based pain using local anesthetic blocks with Electronic Cell Signal Techniques (EST).

He has done multiple reviews for plaintiff and defense medical-legal cases, including hundreds of medical records reviews. He has been deposed as an expert on over 60 occasions and has appeared in both state and federal court. He has assisted the DEA in cases involving trafficking, and also defended doctors against DEA allegations of narcotic overutilization in cases across the US.

Types of cases in which he has been involved include DEA (drug) defense, malpractice (plaintiff and defense), interventional pain management malpractice, overbilling & overutilization, and anesthesia plaintiff and defense.

Since 2005 Dr. Odell has done research utilizing CET to treat a variety of conditions, especially neuropathic pain. He strives to provide alternatives to the current dependence on drugs of neuropathy, which is inadequate, expensive and causes side effects in a majority of patients. He has published extensively in the pain management literature with articles on CET, EST and the usefulness of CET in treating neuropathy and spine pain, with more than 11,000 reads of his papers according to Medscape.
