Dr. Phillip Nye is a diplomat of the American Board of Anesthesiologists, certified in both anesthesia and sleep medicine. After graduating with an undergraduate degree from Boston University he worked as a research volunteer at Brigham and Women’s Hospital division of sleep and circadian disorders from 1993-1995. He went on to complete his medical degree at Spartan Health Sciences University, residency in anesthesia at Maimonides Medical Center and finally, fellowship training in sleep medicine at Eastern Virginia Medical School. He has been practicing medicine for over 15 years. He has been involved in research projects in the field of sleep disorders including a recent publication in the Journal of Sleep and Breathing. He is an active member of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM)  and the Society of Anesthesia and Sleep Medicine (SASM). He has presented research posters at both SASM and AASM annual Ssociety meetings in the past. He served on the advisory board for the inter-Society collaboration presidential committee with the American Academy of Sleep Medicine from 2019-2020. He also served as a committee member for the Society of Anesthesia and Sleep Medicine from 2020-2021. He is the founder and medical Director of Anesthesia and Sleep Medicine Services of Florida. Dr. Nye has affiliated hospital staff privileges at Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital, he works as a part-time anesthesiologist at Good Samaritan’s Medical Center in West Palm Beach Florida and performs outpatient anesthesia at surgery centers. In addition to performing regional blocks, airway management and outpatient anesthesia services, he treats an array of sleep disorders including narcolepsy, central and obstructive sleep apnea, REM behavioral disorder, restless leg syndrome, parasomnias, and circadian rhythm disorders.
