Mr. Bryan P. Melan is the Owner and Principal Engineer of Tide Water Integrity Services, LLC incorporated in the state of Texas in 2014. He is a retired corporate Pipeline Integrity Subject Matter Expert from Marathon Oil Company responsible for worldwide assets. He has over 40 years of pipeline and plant facility piping engineering and project management experience with Marathon Oil, Marathon Oil UK, Marathon-Ashland Pipeline, Sun Pipe Line, Amoco Production Company, and J. Ray McDermott, Inc.

Mr. Melan graduated from the Tulane University School of Engineering in 1977 with a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. He also received a Master of Engineering degree in Petroleum Engineering from the Tulane University School of Engineering in 1983. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Texas (138424), the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania (PE-043186-E), an elected Member of the British Institute of Non-Destructive Testing (411665), and a current applicant for Engineering Chartership in the United Kingdom.

He has a 40 year-long perspective and knowledge of the processes and procedures used by the pipeline and process piping industries in construction and pre-commissioning natural gas, water, and hazardous liquid pipes,. He is the Chairman of NACE committee TG-212, responsible for maintenance and updates to standard NACE SP-0102, and previously served as co-chairman of API 1163, First Edition

Mr. Melan also has extensive experience with construction contract documents and industry-standard agreements and arrangements, such as lump-sum agreements and Time and Materials (T&M) agreements
